Grand Ideas

Grand Ideas

“Grand Ideas” is now being launched, and features in the current edition of Wildlife News.

When it comes to doing our bit to save the world, everyone thinks that they know best!

Imagine you had £1000 to put your own idea into action.

What would you do?

Plant some wildflowers? Organise a clean-up? Encourage everyone to use less electricity, or stop wasting water? Reuse and recycle? Reduce plastics? Maybe some habitat creation with a bird box bonanza?

Where would you work?

You could start in your own home or back garden, or working in your school, or in your community? Perhaps you are more comfortable out in cyber-space, influencing people around the world through your website or social media?

Who would you partner with?

School friends? The Council? A celebrity? Maybe you will go it alone! Maybe it’s time for something completely different. Whatever your idea – now is your chance…

The Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust have teamed up with the Community Foundation and #iwill Lottery funding to bring you “Grand Ideas – Do Your Idea” – your chance to win one of five prizes of £1000 to make a difference of your own. This is a chance for you to take your idea out of your head, and put it out there, doing something worthwhile in the real world. If you are between 10 and 20 years of age (inclusive) and live in Leicestershire or Rutland – you are eligible to enter. If you need some help – don’t worry. You can partner with friends and family, and experts in fundraising and project design from the Wildlife Trust will be on hand to help. If you think £1000 might not be enough, don’t worry – we may be able to help you raise even more!
